At #SXSW 2024, Tide introduced Tide evo — a revolutionary new tile form of laundry detergent. SXSW attendees were invited to immerse themselves in the innovation through tactile experiences focused on how Tide evo is made, how it works and how it’s changing the laundry category for the future. “The highlight was witnessing visitors’ jaws drop. Lights, Camera, Action! 🎬 This year’s #EarthDay marked the global premier of the documentary “Our Blue World – A Water Odyssey.” Our partnership with Brave Blue World Studios aims to raise awareness about the global water crisis in a relevant and relatable way. The film explains how we can save water and energy at home, featuring P&G scientists who provide expert insights. It also emphasizes the effectiveness of P&G products, which are “Made Better, Made to Save” to make everyday life just a bit better now and for generations to come. We often use the phrase “for generations to come” alongside references to our purpose, values and principles. Among the efforts that truly standout when I think about generational impact is our effort with the US Mint to cement (well technically stamp in silver and gold), the legacy of Harriet Tubman in a series of commemorative coins. Here’s why: · There are few finer examples of courage, leadership, sacrifice and achievement. Her legacy is one all Americans should know. · The faces on our money enshrine in our memory, consciously and unconsciously, the people we hold in esteem alongside what we so treasure. · This coin program under the historic leadership of The Honorable Ventris Gibson, Director of the U.S. Mint is a modern demonstration of legacy and leadership. Representation matters. · Of the many things you can gift future generations, few are guaranteed to appreciate. Last I checked, silver and gold aren’t going anywhere. Oh, and it benefits organizations putting in the work to keep Ms. Tubman’s (put some respect on her name) legacy alive. So, in addition those Benjamins, Washingtons and Jeffersons in your pocket, I’m proud to say I’ll soon have some Tubman’s too. You can too. For now, sharing pics from last week’s Capitol Hill reception and sharing gratitude to the many people who made this happen, including bipartisan Congressional coalition (yes, it can be done) including Rep. Joyce Beatty, Sen. Sherrod Brown, Rep. Robin Kelly, Rep. Gregory Meeks, Rep. Shontel M. Brown, Rep. Claudia Tenney, and Rep. Brandon Williams who spoke at the reception and former Sen. Rob Portman and Rep. John Katko for speaking at the ceremonial strike ceremony in Philadelphia. Shout out to our partners, WOODROW Keown from the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and Karen Hill from the Harriet Tubman Home, Value Partnerships and my partner in crime at P&G, Tara Hogan Charles. I have tremendous gratitude to represent Procter & Gamble as we continue to enable moments like these as part of our commitment to step up, step out – to see something, say something, and, importantly, DO something.
